Special Delivery

This summer I made a decision which changed my life! The kind of choice that makes one see puffy clouds, sunshine, rainbows, ice cream trucks, and all that is heavenly. The kind of moment that makes you want to sing that 1990 remake of “Somewhere over the rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole.

You see, the grocery store had become my enemy. I didn’t sign up for another full-time job. It just found me. Little by little I felt like I was in my own personal “Goundhog Day” movie. You know, where you wake up and you’re in the same situation you were the day before and the nightmare never ends. Everyone from the cart retrievers to the deli counter to the shelf stockers to the cashiers and so on knew my face and name from seeing me the day before. It started to feel like a perpetual family reunion.

About three months ago I saw a commercial advertising SHIPT. I was super skeptical. One, I couldn’t believe that anyone in their right mind would ever want to do grocery shopping as a job. Two, the prices had to be awful to offer this kind of a service. After looking into it, I decided to try it out and pay my one year membership fee of $100. I have to say, it is one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. I receive deliveries from two grocery stores, Target and/or CVS. My choice. FREE delivery if I spend a minimum of $35.00. Some of my friends asked about the produce quality. It has been excellent. The same rating system applies as if you were scoring an Uber or Lyft driver. A five star rating shopper is awesome and a one star is terrible. I am happy to report I have had all five star people. I have also added a tip for great service. I am completely convinced I am saving more money by ordering only what I need when I need it. In fact, most days you can order and receive your items within a few hours. Now THAT is a “SPECIAL DELIVERY.”

If this interests you, I believe if you mention my name or copy and paste this code http://share.shipt.com/wvMJs you might be eligible to receive a year membership for $49.00 instead of the $100.00 I paid. Give them a call if the code doesn’t work. They also offer a free trial for 30 days.

Thoughts for today…

  1. Life is way too short to spend hours of quality time with meat, milk and mangos.
  2. People that love grocery shopping delivery should probably be my best friends.
  3. Choose joy, everyday!
